Peybonhomme blanc
Peybonhomme blanc
Country: France
Region: Cotes de Blaye
Grape: 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Semillon & 10% Colombard
ABV: 13.5%
A blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombard, the wine has a fresh, citrus acidity which balances perfectly the tropical fruits and subtle creamy notes from one third of the wine being aged in French oak barrels.
Combined with the Cotes de Bourg, these two regions form the eastern bank of the Gironde as it flows north of Libourne. The red wines here are gutsy, with ample fruit and a distinct earthy terroir.
This 148 acre property is Bordeaux`s most extensive organic vineyard, situated on the right bank of the Gironde on the best limestone and clay soils of Cars, a small commune near Blaye. The 19th century Chateaux is dominated by a magnificent crenellated tower, offering magnificent views over this ancient estate.
