Château de Campuget was established in 1942 and is a top quality estate near Nîmes, which is steeped in history. The Château itself was built in 1753 and at the same time the first vines were planted, prompting the 1753 range of wines which mark this historic date. The fusion of tradition and progression unite in the cellars here, producing wines with integrity, finesse and a wonderful expression of terroir, from a wide range of traditional Rhône varieties.

2017 saw a mild winter and spring, followed by colder temperatures in the early part of summer. Rainfall events during the flowering period resulted in reduced yields. However, the latter part of the summer saw warmer, drier weather which led to ideal growing conditions for the vines.

The soil in this vineyard comprises pebbles with alluvia. Strict canopy management provides the vines with just the right amount of sun and shade to produce healthy and balanced fruit. The grapes were picked at optimal phenological ripeness, which assured elegance in the resulting wine.

Harvested at full maturity, the ripe grapes were taken immediately to be pressed, then the must was chilled and settled. Vinified in the traditional manner, a proportion of the wine was matured in tank with the remainder matured in used oak for a period of three months prior to the final blend. Beautifully packaged, incorporating a glass stopper.

An elegant Viognier with hints of orange marmalade, apricot and ripe tropical fruits. Precise, crisp and balanced on the palate, with a roundness of generously structured fruit and a long, elegant finish. Serve chilled as an apéritif, or to accompany smoked fish and spicy dishes. Perfect with Asian or Indian inspired cuisine.
