Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Château de Fleys
Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Château de Fleys
Lying on South-facing slopes, these vines are ideally located and produce powerful and fruity Chablis. Coming from 50 year-old vines, it is a remarkably well-structured and concentrated wine with delicate aromas of dried fruit and a hint of honey. The beautiful mineral finish makes your pleasure last even longer.
Château de Fleys is a small estate in Chablis gaining a solid reputation year after year. Its owners, the Philippon family, used to sell most of their grapes to the local cooperative but they now elaborate some wonderful Chablis from their best plots - which are among the finest ones in the Chablis appellation! Wines from Château de Fleys are all a pure and mineral expression of Chardonnay. A great discovery from Your Sommelier, that we are very proud of, and that you won't find anywhere else in the UK!
Julien Philippon founded the Domaine in the 1870's, buying small plots of vines over time. The Château itself was bought in 1988 by André Philippon, and the estate is now managed by his children who have been producing their own wine for a few years now. Château de Fleys is among the small producers that will be well known in a near future, but for now, it remains a confidential address in Chablis. We have selected two different Chablis, as well as 3 Premier Crus, each expressing the specific parcel they come from. Altogether they will give you a great example of the diversity of the Chablis terroir.
